Happy Summer and Greetings Voting Member Organization leaders!

My name is Steven O’Connor, and I am an attorney with NHFC and the US Health Freedom Congress. I am working with attorney Diane Miller, who will be serving as Moderator of the 2022 Congress.

We are now calling for resolutions and model bill drafts for the upcoming 2022 Health Freedom Congress.

A little bit about Resolutions and Model Legislation:   

Resolutions can be helpful in many ways. Creating and debating them can help us focus explicitly on what issues are important to our organizations. And passed resolutions can help leaders to return home with clear goals to share with their groups. Also, while groups collaborate all year, resolutions agreed upon by group leaders together help to both inspire and coordinate health freedom efforts nationwide. Last but not least, resolutions help to guide our efforts and demonstrate that key issues have wide support when working to educate lawmakers and policy makers and encouraging them to take a stand.

Model Bill Language can be helpful to assist with the text of new laws, because bill drafting can be very political and also complex. It is good to have trusted sources when working on drafting a bill. When we have model bills to present, lawmakers can view exactly what we are asking for and discuss various implications of amendments that might come forward. For those activists who are not drafting bills, it is helpful for them to have a model bill to take to their legislative champions to consider sponsoring and moving forward.

If you have Resolutions that you would like to ask fellow organizations to endorse at the Congress or Model Bill Language that you have drafted, and on which you would like feedback from us or your colleagues, or a Model Bill you have vetted and tested out and want to share with other organizations, please send them to us.  We will assemble them and send them to all Voting Member Organization Leaders before the Health Freedom Congress for review. We will also provide hard copies in your Congress packets.  For resolutions, there will be a time at the Congress when we will collect endorsements for the Resolutions and report the outcomes back to you.

We are also interested in hearing from you about whether and how you have used prior Congress Resolutions and Model Bill language in your organizations or home state. Can you please let us know if these documents, available here, have been helpful to you?
